    Why I’m Blessed

As September ends and October begins, I want to make a little list of a few of the things that make me realized how blessed I am surrounding me. Disclaimer: I am writing this more for myself than anyone else. Honestly, Sophomore year hit me hard and September was challenging to put it easily. For most of the month, I was covered in piles of homework and trying to keep my head above water in the rushing river rapids that are life. To top it off, my body decided to shut down a bit and get very sick in the last week. There were many moments when it was hard…

    Week One of Part Two

Last Friday I moved into my home for the year, St. Joseph Hall. This year I get to live with one of my best friends and computer science buddy Lauren. Move in only took four hours and over 20 trips (sorry dad) and to think we were supposed to live on the fifth floor and got moved to the second. Overall, I love the way the roomed turned out and appreciate the extra space and storage, especially the bookshelves on the walls. Start of Class This past Monday started a new semester of classes. My schedule isn’t the easiest; I have four classes in a row starting at 8:30 and…

Seeing the Beauty of God from a New Angle

Recently I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Virginia at the University of Mary-Washington for the 2019 Digital Pedagogy Lab (recap(s) coming soon!) and was inspired by a post my partner Ruthie wrote, which can be found here. When I got home, I was again inspired by Deacon Jeff’s incredible homily at Prince of Peace during weekend mass. Deacon Jeff’s Homily focused on Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” When I heard this verse, everything in my life just seemed to make a bit more sense. There were multiple times in the past week that I…

    1 Down … 3 to Go

Last Friday officially marked the end of my first year of college at St. Norbert! The last few weeks of classes and exams flew by and it was very hard to say goodbye to some incredible new friends. Full Spectrum Learning For the past year I have been working for Full Spectrum Learning as a Research Fellow. I had the opportunity to present at the Undergraduate Research Forum in early April about how we are using domains to enhance our research. I have also had the opportunity to present for other meetings on campus including the SyNC conference and Gift Planning Advisory Council. I wrote about my recap of my…

    Almost There…

With the incredible weather this week, I am constantly being reminded that it is almost summer and that means almost the end of my first full year of college. That is such a scary realization and a very weird thing to think about. One of the fun things that I go to do this past weekend was attend Preble’s Cabaret. They all did amazing and I was so glad to see everyone again, especially my three “freshman”. Most of my days are spent on homework, working, or in the church, but I still find time to have some fun! Each day the light at the end of the tunnel that…

    International Women’s Day

As you may have heard, today is International Women’s Day and it really helped me to think about all of the incredible people and role models in my life. Thank you to all of those who have paved the way for women today, especially those women in technology. Mom My mother has been there for my from day one. I know I can always rely on her to be there for me, no matter what. She is my biggest role model and I hope to be half of the mom she is to my children one day! Second Floor Sisters Living in Bergstrom has been the most incredible part of…

    Galentine’s Week in Bergstrom

This past week was Valentines (or Galentine’s) week. The week was full of adventures fuelled by a snow day and rom coms. Monday night came with the first adventure of the week before the snowstorm. Once we found out that class was cancelled for Tuesday, we decided to take an adventure to McDonalds to get 13 Shamrock Shakes for the floor. Wednesday was Galentine’s Day and I got to spend the night with the amazing ladies of Chiara. We did affirmation boards and got to say what we loved about one another. We then all headed to Knight Mass and Dales, making it a perfect end to the day. Thursday…

    “Sticking” Together

On Friday I spent the night to watching the JV Hockey team for SNC at the DePere Ice Arena. The night was a fun (but cold) way to end the week. I am glad I went and got to experience a hockey game and get off campus for a little bit. We ended the night by eating at Taco Bell (my first time) and relaxing while warming up by watching movies in the lounge. The first few weeks of the semester have been a bit of a roller coaster with so many cold and snow days, but I am finally getting back to the swing of classes and a regular…

    End of the First Semester

This past Friday was the end of the first semester for me at St. Norbert. I feel like so much has changed, it has to be longer than 15 weeks ago that I moved in. The biggest and most important lesson I have learned is the importance of relying on others. I have met so many incredible people since I started school and there were times we all needed each others support. Days and weeks can feel like years and there were many times I texted someone or knocked on their door to relieve stress and rant to them. I cannot thank every single person I have met enough. They…
