    (Half) a Year Wiser

Today officially marks six months since move in day in August. I feel like I have grown and changed so much and it feels like I have lived here so much longer. Each of the months have had their ups and downs but I love each one of them. Here are my favorite parts of each month: Month #1 Moving into to Bergstrom 207 Into the Streets and my Orientation Group DePere Farmers Market and Shopko Adventures Football Game with the Floor Bay Beach Adventure Month #2 SNC Day Pumpkin Picking at my House Thankful Dinner for Spirit Choir Apple Picking with Eleanor Month #3 Beautiful Fall Nights on Campus…

    Galentine’s Week in Bergstrom

This past week was Valentines (or Galentine’s) week. The week was full of adventures fuelled by a snow day and rom coms. Monday night came with the first adventure of the week before the snowstorm. Once we found out that class was cancelled for Tuesday, we decided to take an adventure to McDonalds to get 13 Shamrock Shakes for the floor. Wednesday was Galentine’s Day and I got to spend the night with the amazing ladies of Chiara. We did affirmation boards and got to say what we loved about one another. We then all headed to Knight Mass and Dales, making it a perfect end to the day. Thursday…

    “Sticking” Together

On Friday I spent the night to watching the JV Hockey team for SNC at the DePere Ice Arena. The night was a fun (but cold) way to end the week. I am glad I went and got to experience a hockey game and get off campus for a little bit. We ended the night by eating at Taco Bell (my first time) and relaxing while warming up by watching movies in the lounge. The first few weeks of the semester have been a bit of a roller coaster with so many cold and snow days, but I am finally getting back to the swing of classes and a regular…

    End of the First Semester

This past Friday was the end of the first semester for me at St. Norbert. I feel like so much has changed, it has to be longer than 15 weeks ago that I moved in. The biggest and most important lesson I have learned is the importance of relying on others. I have met so many incredible people since I started school and there were times we all needed each others support. Days and weeks can feel like years and there were many times I texted someone or knocked on their door to relieve stress and rant to them. I cannot thank every single person I have met enough. They…

So Much to be Thankful For…

Hello to all my friends and family! Thursday was Thanksgiving and also the three month anniversary of me moving into St. Norbert and it led me to reflect on many aspects of my life. Many things have changed in the past few months, mainly for the better. I have met an incredible group of people and I am immensely grateful. I love living in Bergstrom in such a great community of the incredible Second Floor Sisters. The girls of Chiara have also really helped support and guide me these past few months in the change in atmosphere on my faith journey. Thanks to the incredible Katie for dealing with me and…

    Dance Marathon

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to participate in St. Norbert’s Dance Marathon. The day consisted of 13.1 hours on your feet; it started at 9 am and ended at 10:06 pm. Throughout the day there were activities, a surprise guest on her wedding day, the morale dance, and powerful family stories. Here is the morale dance we danced at the start of each hour.   The day was incredible and exhausting and always for an amazing cause. Overall, we raised over 84 thousand dollars for the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin! Here is the recap video of the day I had the honor of helping to film for throughout…

    Heritage Ball

This past Saturday was St. Norbert’s homecoming weekend. This involved activities all week and accumulated on Saturday for the Homecoming Game and Heritage Ball. I was not sure what to expect for Heritage Ball but it turned out to be a night full of fun. Saturday morning a small group of us ventured out to the De Pere Christian Outreach Thrift Store for some shopping. We had been there for a field trip for class on Thursday morning and we really enjoyed their mission. They help those who are in need by running a thrift store and food pantry in the greater De Pere area. Most of the people who…

    Fall on Campus

This past couple of weeks on campus have been beautiful! A couple of the days were a bit chilly, but overall it has been the perfect fall weather. The walk to breakfast every morning during sunrise is especially beautiful and it makes waking up early a bit more tolerable. The sunsets on the docks have been breathtaking recently and I took advantage of this before my night exam on Monday. This past week, my friend and I had a mini photo shoot after class. It was a great time getting to enjoy time together, the weather, and a break from studying for a bit. This campus is always breathtaking, but…

Showcase, Church, and Pumpkins, Oh My!

This past weekend was the first time that I went home (for more than a few hours). I left campus early Saturday morning and headed back Sunday afternoon.    Saturday Saturday was a day of bittersweetness. After being picked up, I first went back to my old high school, Preble, to watch marching band showcase. It was definitely a weird feeling to not be on the field in a uniform. Every school did amazing and I was so happy to see my younger friends again! After the showcase, I headed to church. I surprised most of the choir and it felt amazing. I honestly miss all of them a lot…

    SNC Day!

This weekend on campus is Family Weekend! That being said it is very chaotic having everyone up here all at once. The weather was beautiful and the day was very relaxing! Friday was spent bonding as a floor and we started off our Saturday with a boat cruise and ended with an art tour by Father Neilson. Friday Night After a stressful and long week of classes, Friday night was a welcome feeling. I started off my night with learning about Chiara (the Catholic Women’s Group on campus) and then eating a Parmesan Chicken Melt at Phil’s for dinner. Afterward, our floor bonded by decorating all the windows to our…
